      Step 3 Solid-phase synthesis <\/h3>\n

      The actual synthesis of the peptide takes place on a solid support, to which the first amino acid is attached. The sequence is then extended through successive reaction cycles. <\/p>\n

      Each cycle typically includes:<\/p>\n

      • removal of the protection group,<\/li>\n
      • attachment of the next amino acid,<\/li>\n
      • Rinsing and preparing for the next stage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        If the project requires it, additional modifications can be made during or after synthesis. These may include: <\/p>\n

        • amidation,<\/li>\n

        • FITC labeling,<\/li>\n
        • phosphorylation,<\/li>\n
        • methylation,<\/li>\n
        • PEGylation,<\/li>\n
